Colorado Springs Real Estate: Colorado is NOT #1 in Foreclosures. We are #5 Thankyouverymuch.

Contrary to popular belief, Colorado is STILL NOT #1 in foreclosures. We actually ranked #5 in 2006, which, although it is still a bit high, is MUCH better than the #1 status that we held for quite awhile. (However, we DID nudge up a bit from our #8 status in October 2006…)

According to the recent RealtyTrac foreclosure MAP, the states with the highest foreclosure rates in 2006 were:

  1. Nevada
  2. Michigan
  3. Florida
  4. California
  5. Colorado

The map (here) looks like the Colorado Springs Real Estate market is better than other real estate markets in the front range.

Per a recent Colorado Springs Business Journal – CSBJ article, “RealtyTrac’s 2007 U.S. Foreclosure Market report also shows that more than 1 percent of all U.S. households were in some stage of foreclosure during the year, up from 0.58 percent during 2006 … Colorado ranked fifth nationally for foreclosure rate, with 1.92 percent of all households in foreclosure.”

Let’s look at the bright side … This means that 98.08% of homeowners in Colorado are doing just fine.
