Ignore the Media!! Colorado Springs Home Values UP 5.6% From 2005

Although the Colorado Springs real estate market DID see a minor drop in sales price from 2006-2007, homeowners are still seeing a healthy 5.6% appreciation in Colorado Springs properties from 2005.

From a recent Colorado Springs Business Journal article:
“The Colorado Springs metropolitan area saw a slight decline in median sale prices, from $218,200 to $217,500. However, that was still substantially above the 2005 median of $205,900.”

If you have been watching TV lately, especially HGTV, you have probably seen the Realtor® Commercials, right? I spoke with a NAR (National Association of Realtors®) representative at a recent Keller WIlliams convention, and she told me that they are going to do their best to overcome the negative media real estate market frenzy, by advertising that Real Estate is local.

Thank goodness!

As you can see in the above Colorado Springs housing market appreciation numbers … real estate IS local. The Colorado Springs real estate market is doing MUCH better than the national media would like us to believe.
